BSRB's health- and benefit fund has a multiple number of grants which all fund member can apply for after having belonged to the union for 12 months (6 months in some cases).

Here is a list of subjects which the fund supports:

• Birth grant
• Physical therapy, theraputic massage, acupuncture and kiropractic treatment.
• Cancer screening
• Checkup at the Icelandic Heart Association
• Travel expenses
• Health exercise
• Adoption
• In vitro fertilization and artificial insemination
• Glasses expenses and laser eye-surgery
• Treatment at the NFLÍ Rehabilitation and Health Clinic
• Phsychologist, a family consultant og a solcial worker
• Dental Cost
• Hearing Aid
• Funeral Cost

According to the 7th section of the fund's terms and conditions the fund management is permitted to make exceptions to the above-mentioned rules and allocate a grant in special circumstances that may result in the loss of salary or great expenses of the fund member due to his illness or that of close family members.
